Evil Touched Her Hand

It was a day of devastation
Everything out of control
People running for cover
Stories taking hold.

The nation drenched in turmoil
A city paved with gray
Faces filled with horror
Terror struck this day.

Thousands lay in rubble
Beneath the towers of steal
Loved ones crying hopelessly
Confused, that it is real.

News about the terrorist
Reached across the lands
America no longer safe
Evil touched her hand.

Everyone wants to feel protected, safe in the arms of someone strong, especially after that horrible day of 911. But we really can not say we’re totally safe, until we know the one who is in full control; the one who created the heavens and the earth, and put the stars in place. The one who said, “Father forgive them, for they know not what they do.”  The only one who truly loves you and gave His life as proof. No, we can never be safe here on earth totally, but we can be totally safe in God’s arms. No matter what happens, because terrible things are going to happen, there is a safe haven, a shelter from the terrors of the night. And though storms may come and evil overtake us at times, we still can lie safely and securely in His arms. Why? Because Jesus said, “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.” (John 14:1-4)
Jesus is preparing a home in heaven for His bride. One day He will come and take us there. Are you ready to go?  Thomas didn’t know the way and asked Jesus how to get there. (John 14:5) Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? You see, many think there is more than one way, one path or one road to heaven. They think being good will get them there for sure or even putting money in the offering should help. Yet this is what Jesus said in John 14:6 – “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” We could never be good enough to earn our way into heaven, if we could, how many good works would we have to do, and what would they be? Nor could we tithe enough to pay our way there, how much money would it take…and how much money do you have? Jesus paid the price for all of us by His precious blood. That’s why He can say, “I am the way”.
